IT Devices Usage Policy
Technology Usage Policy During Onboarding Period
To help students settle into boarding life and establish healthy daily routines, mobile phones and personal devices are restricted during the first three months of onboarding. On arrival day, all personal devices are collected and securely stored by the Resident Advisor (RA) musyrif/musyrifah. This measure supports students in forming stronger connections with their surroundings, peers, and daily activities without excessive reliance on phones. After the onboarding period, students may use mobile phones on weekends according to a scheduled process, devices are issued and returned directly to the respective Resident Advisor.
School Laptops and Digital Access
As part of our learning facilities, each student is issued a school laptop for academic purposes and official communication. Every student receives a school email account and access to a dedicated student Wi-Fi network after orientation. We regard digital literacy as an essential skill, while also cultivating responsible digital habits aligned with our values. School laptops include monitoring tools that allow the academic team to ensure use remains consistent with educational objectives and school policy. This is not intended as intrusive surveillance but as a collective responsibility to maintain a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment.
We regard technology as an amanah, a trust and a means to access beneficial knowledge, righteous action, and a more civilized life. Accordingly, GDA is committed to providing technology and support that foster a spirit of learning, responsible digital conduct, and Islamic character. Technology use at GDA covers both school-owned devices and networks and personal devices connected to the school network. Every student is expected to use technology wisely, legally, ethically, and in harmony with the Islamic values that underpin our education.
