Assessment and Grading
Grade 10
Grade 10 at SMA Global Darussalam Academy follows the Indonesian National Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) and serves as a foundational year to prepare students for the rigors of the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. Assessment is designed to support students’ academic growth and personal development.
Assessment Principles:
- Competency-based and aligned with national curriculum standards.
- A balance of formative assessments (to monitor Learning) and summative assessments (to evaluate achievement).
- Includes cognitive skills, character education, and student agency as key Learning dimensions.
Types of Assessment:
- Written tests and exams
- Projects and presentations
- Performance tasks (e.g., practicals, experiments, oral communication)
- Portfolios and student reflections
- Observations and peer/self-assessments
Grading Scale:
- Based on the national 0–100 scale
- ≥ 85 = Excellent
- 75–84 = Competent
- < 75 = Needs Improvement
- The minimum mastery score (KKM) is typically set at 75 per subject.
Reporting:
- Report cards issued twice per academic year (end of Semester 1 and Semester 2).
- Reports include academic achievement, behavior and attitudes, and co-curricular participation.
- Parents are invited for teacher-parent conferences and student reflection sessions.
Mid Semester report is the progress report that is issued through school Learning Management Systems
Grade 11–12 (IB Diploma Programme)
Grades 11 and 12 at SMA Global Darussalam Academy follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), a rigorous pre-university curriculum recognized worldwide. Assessment in the DP reflects the standards set by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
Assessment Principles:
- Based on criteria-referenced assessment aligned with each IB subject guide.
- Emphasizes critical thinking, academic integrity, and conceptual understanding.
- Includes both internal and external components.
Types of Assessment:
- Internal Assessments (IA): Teacher-assessed and IB-moderated tasks (e.g., lab reports, oral commentaries, investigations).
- External Assessments: Final exams and essays assessed by IB examiners (e.g., Paper 1, Paper 2, TOK Essay, Extended Essay).
- Formative Assessments: Quizzes, essays, class discussions, draft work for IB components.
Grading Scale:
- Each subject is graded on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest).
- Tiga komponen inti (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, The three core elements (TOK, EE, and CAS) can contribute up to 3 additional points.
- Maximum achievable score: 45 points.
- A minimum of 24 points (with other conditions) is required to earn the IB Diploma.
Reporting:
- Progress reports are issued every semester with interim reports in between in students’ LMS.
- Predicted grades are provided in Grade 12 for university applications.
- Final IB results are released by the IB in July (after May exams).
Graduation Requirements:
- To graduate from Global Darussalam Academy, students must:
- Complete the national graduation requirements according to government regulations.
- Students must complete national graduation requirements (SKL) and the IB Diploma components (CAS, TOK, EE).
- Students must have good behavior with no major academic or code of conduct violations.
