Global Darussalam Academy GDA

Featured Program: Madrasah Diniyyah Takmiliyah (MDT)

The Madrasah Diniyyah Takmiliyah (MDT) Program is one of GDA’s flagship initiatives, designed to strengthen students’ understanding of Islamic teachings comprehensively, covering faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), and the practice of noble values in daily life. Through a well-structured curriculum, students are equipped not only with knowledge but also with the foundation to develop a strong Islamic character, a broad perspective, and readiness to face global challenges. This program emphasizes both understanding and practice of Islamic principles, and includes fourteen core areas of study:

  • Tajwid

Tajwid trains students to recite the Qur’an accurately, fluently, and with proper intonation in accordance with established rules. Lessons cover makharijul huruf (points of articulation), shifatul huruf (characteristics of letters), ahkamul huruf (inter-letter relations), ahkamul maddi wal qasr (rules of elongation), and ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida’ (rules of stopping and starting recitation). Mastery of Tajwid enables students to recite the Qur’an beautifully while preserving the integrity and meaning of each verse.

  • Imla’

The Imla’ course focuses on developing students’ ability to write Arabic letters and sentences through dictation exercises. Students learn the correct formation of letters, writing conventions, and the structure of words and sentences. This subject sharpens accuracy, fluency, and neatness in writing, enabling students to produce well-structured Arabic texts.

  • Thematic Tafsir

Through Thematic Tafsir, students explore Qur’anic verses based on specific themes, such as the creation of the universe, natural phenomena, human anatomy, life sciences, and national values including the duty to preserve the unity of the Republic of Indonesia. This course helps students appreciate the relevance of the Qur’an to spiritual, intellectual, and societal dimensions of life.

  • Hadith

The Hadith curriculum equips students with a deep understanding of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a guide for life. Lessons cover aqidah (faith), akhlaq (morality), ibadah (acts of worship), muamalah (social relations), and inspiring stories from the Prophet’s life (sirah nabawiyah). Students are encouraged to model the Prophet’s character and apply these values in daily life.

  • Tauhid

Tauhid serves as the foundation of the MDT curriculum, instilling and reinforcing belief in Allah while safeguarding the purity of faith. A solid understanding of Tauhid provides students with a steadfast spiritual compass as they advance to higher levels of education, including studies abroad, enabling them to remain firm in their beliefs amid diverse worldviews.

  • Tasawuf

Tasawuf teaches students to purify their hearts from negative traits (akhlaq madzmumah) and cultivate praiseworthy qualities (akhlaq mahmudah). This spiritual journey nurtures inner awareness, fosters closeness to Allah, and harmonizes outward actions with inward sincerity.

  • Akhlak

Akhlaq education centers on moral excellence and Islamic manners, covering students’ relationships with Allah, themselves, others, and the environment. By understanding the distinction between good and harmful conduct, students are guided to embody virtuous character and avoid harmful behaviors.

  • Fiqh

Fiqh introduces students to Islamic jurisprudence and its application in daily life. Lessons address worship practices, family matters, social relations, and other aspects of life. A strong grounding in Fiqh ensures students can faithfully observe Islamic law even when studying or living abroad.

  • Ushul Fiqh

Ushul Fiqh focuses on the foundational principles used to derive and understand Islamic rulings. Students are introduced to the methodology of istinbath (legal reasoning) used by scholars, allowing them to appreciate the wisdom behind Sharia regulations.

  • Tarikh Islam

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic history. They learn about the Prophet Muhammad not only as a Messenger but also as a successful entrepreneur, family leader, head of state, and one of the most influential figures in history. Lessons include the history of the caliphates, the lives of outstanding companions, and the contributions of Muslim scholars whose discoveries continue to impact the modern world.

  • Tafsir al-Ibadah

In Tafsir al-Ibadah, students explore the deeper meanings behind acts of worship such as prayer, remembrance (dhikr), and supplication (du’a). The course examines historical context, spiritual wisdom, and modern relevance, ensuring that worship is performed with mindfulness and understanding.

  • Balaghah

Balaghah develops students’ appreciation of the beauty and precision of Arabic language in literature and rhetoric. This mastery enables them to engage with the eloquence of Qur’anic verses and classical texts while refining their own communication skills.

  • Mantiq

Mantiq introduces students to logic and reasoning, teaching them to distinguish between sound and flawed arguments. This subject trains students to think clearly, systematically, and critically, equipping them to solve problems and pursue truth with intellectual integrity.
